BLOWN IN SOFT COPPER WOVEN MOLDS

The experimental vase edition Raw explores new sensual qualities of mouth-blown glass. Traditionally glass is blown in heavy wooden molds. Redesigning this practice and exposing filigree copper woven molds to the artisan craft of mouth blown glass, Milena introduces a new soft and textile sensuality to the craft of glass. The woven flexible copper mold creates delicate tactile patterns on the crystalized surface and a fluid seam where the copper and glass unite.

A wide palette of colors ranging from warm amber, rose and ruby to vivid blue hues and natural smoke shades is eternalized in every piece of glass. The delicate glance and raw surface is reminiscent of its copper mold origin.
